Both the US and the British Empire used the M3 during WWII and the Cold War.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Saladin (FV601) built by <a title=\"Alvis Car and Engineering Company Ltd\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alvis_Cars\" target=\"_blank\">Alvis<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"details-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/aircombatmuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/P1020939.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Saladin is a six wheeled armoured car, used extensively by the British that replaced the AEC Armoured Car that had been in service since World War II. \u00a0It is named after the warrior <a title=\"Saladin\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saladin\" target=\"_blank\">Saladin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a multi-role vehicle that entered service in 1958. The low cost of this armoured car made it a tempting acquisition for forces that could not afford a &#8220;true&#8221; armoured vehicle or had no need for such a vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The mobility, speed and firepower proved well suited for reconnaissance and policing duties.
